boss Pain and Agony

After hearing about the rumor of a prince of King Ashnard, the late king of Daein, Micaiah and the Dawn Brigade head east to the dessert where they hope to eventually prove this rumor true and bring the king to power, reestablishing Daein as a country.

Micaiah feels something "call" out to her when they arrive near ruins and Sothe confirms that by the structure they must have been carved by Laguz. His allusion to the war three years ago worries Micaiah who tells him that his constant odes to Ike may be upsetting to some Daein folk who consider him an enemy because of his victory over Daein, putting it into the status it is now.

Laguz bandits rush the temple where Micaiah and Sothe are and Micaiah signals to the others to come and help with the battle.

After the battle, Micaiah follows the voice "speaking to her" and runs into Rafiel, a heron prince, and Nailah, the Queen of Wolves. Rafiel learns of his siblings still being alive and has Nailah escort him to Gallia. Sothe suggests that they travel with the Dawn Brigade as far as Crimea where they will meet Ike who will take them to Gallia.

[edit] Strategy

This will be the first chapter that the player faces Laguz, cat laguz and tiger laguz. Laguz are extremely powerful and units such as Laura, Micaiah, Leonardo and Meg should all be used with caution, as they will more than likely die from one to two hits.

While at the base, be sure to grab a Beast Killer to give to Sothe. This knife will do extra damage to Laguz and will be invaluable to this mission. The skill Beast Foe will do the same in later chapters, so be sure to grab that as a hidden item in this chapter.

Immediately you will want to defend two areas: the north, where a tiger will be breaking through the wall, and to the south, where openings will allow the laguz to break your line and attack your weaker units. Station someone like Nolan or Sothe north, as to protect that area when the wall comes falling down. Edward, Aran and the unit that you didn't choose out of Sothe and Nolan should do the same to the south. Hold the line with Laura and Micaiah healing while also using llyana, Edward and Leonardo to attack from afar. Utilize the healing orbs in this chapter as well, as they can keep your units from dying.

When enough damage has been done to continue, do the same while sneaking east and west and then eventually north. Split your units up as to allow each side with a "tank" unit. Be sure to keep your weaker units away and instead have them pick off the Laguz once they're injured.

The bosses are tough when transformed, but if not are extremely easy to kill. If you have no other methods, use Sothe's Beast Killer (given you have it) to do the job easily.
