Alondite

The Alondite is one of the sacred swords of Begnion, used by Altina, the beorc heroine, to defeat Yune. Along with its sister sword, Ragnell, the two swords were blessed by Ashera in order to combat the power of Yune, the Goddess of Chaos. When Altina became the first apostle of Begnion, the two swords became the nation's sacred arms.

Sephiran, chancellor of Begnion, gives Zelgius, otherwise known as the Black Knight, the Alondite. The sword is identical to its sister, Ragnell, other than color. The two swords are easily described as the most powerful weapons in the game.

[edit] Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

In Path of Radiance, it is revealed that the Alondite now belongs to the Black Knight. When the Black Knight challenges his old master, Greil, to a duel, he ultimately wins with Alondite. It is later revealed that Greil was crippled and thus unable to provide adequate skill to prove to the Black Knight whether or not he had usurped his master. The Black Knight later targets Ike, the son of Greil, in order to test his skill in Fire Emblem 10.

[edit] Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Upon defeating Zelgius in the end game, he will admit to defeat and acknowledge Greil's superior swordmanship that now resides in Ike. After dying, Alondite will glow in response to Ragnell, its sister. Ike will take the sword which he can give to any sword-user with the skill to handle it.
