The Greil Mercenaries are a band of people formed by Ike that left their homes in pursuit of the people that attacked their village. "Greil" is the name derived from Ike's dad who was killed by the Black Knight and despite his dad's wishes Ike decided to take revenge with the people that were willing to.

They are a very poor group that rely on being payed by people for completing tasks which most often involve bloodshed.
