Hartmut the Champion
Hartmut is the leader of the Eight Legends and was chosen to wield the Exaccus, one of the Divine Weapons forged to defeat the Dragons, as well as another weapon, known as the Sword of Seals. He founded the Kingdom of Bern and became its first King.
Roland the Little Knight
Roland is one of the Eight Legends of Elibe and was entrusted with Durandal, the Blazing Blade. Although the sword was large enough by a normal man's standards, Roland, a smaller man, was said to possess enough skill to use it. After the Scouring, he retired to his hometown of Ostia and became the Marquess. He is speculated to be of the Hero class.
Durban the Berserker
Durban the Berserker is regarded as the strongest, physically, of the Eight Legends and wielded the Thunder Axe, Armads. After the Scouring, Durban started a warriors guild on the Western Isles, where he grew up. In Fire Emblem, his spirit warns Hector that the wielder of Armads would be cursed to die on the battlefield, never peacefully, although Hector chose to accept that.
Barigan the Faithful
Barigan the Faithful is one of the two members of the Eight Legends who fight on horseback. He uses the Spear of Ice and Snow, Malte. After the Scouring, he founded the first Mercenary guild in Ilia, and showed the people a way to make a living as the climate in Ilia is not suitable for farming. He is implied to be of the Paladin class.
Hanon the Horsewoman
Hanon is a Nomad of Sacae who was among the Eight Legends. She wielded Miugre, the Bow of Hurricanes during the Scouring. It is noted that in the localisation of Fire Emblem, she is incorrectly referred to as a male.
The Archsage Athos
Athos is a scholar who fought alongside the Eight Legends in the Scouring, and wielded the Anima tome, Forblaze, Hellfire's Truth. He retires to Nabata after the Scouring and was speculated to be of the Sage class during the war. He, along with Bramimond, manage to live until the events of Fire Emblem, and is a playable character.
Saint Elimine
St Elimine is the only other member of the Eight Legends, apart from Hanon who is female. She uses both the Light tome, Aureola, the Pinnacle of Light, and the Saint's Staff to help her comrades during the war. After the Scouring, she founds a religion, the Church of St. Elimine in Etruria. This religion is still practiced widely during Fire Emblem and Fire Emblem: Fūin no Tsurugi. She is implied to be of the Bishop class.
Bramimond the Mysterious
Bramimond is one of the Eight Legends, who wields the Dark tome, the Apocalypse. As with most Dark users, Bramimond was eventually consumed by the darkness and was robbed of his personality, being only able to mimic people before him. After the Scouring, he seals the Divine Weapons away, and lived under the Shrine of Seals. He is most likely of the Druid class, however data in Fire Emblem lists him under the "Bramimond" class.
Trivia
- The names of the Eight Legends are derived from French literature, most being taken from The Song of Roland. Athos's name is from his namesake from The Three Musketeers.
- The classes of the Eight Legends are speculated to correspond to the classes of the Bosses of the side chapters in Fire Emblem: Fūin no Tsurugi. The exception being Barigan, as the boss, Teck, is a General.
