Elincia Ridell Crimea first appears in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. Her country, Crimea, is invaded by neighbouring Daein. When the Daein army reaches the Crimean capital, Melior, they kill both of Elincia's parents. Her uncle, Renning, was to be the successor to the throne of Crimea, however this decision was made before Elincia's birth. Elincia was then kept a secret to the public. During the Daein invasion, she escapes the enemy soldiers and is found by the Greil Mercenaries. After realizing who she is, the Greil Mercenaries decide to help her win back her country from Daein. The Greil Mercenaries help Elincia to gain Gallia, Pheonicis, Serenes, and Begnion as allies to take on the Daein army. After the Mad King Ashnard's defeat in Melior, Elincia takes back her country and becomes Crimea's queen, however she is very young and has no experience in running a country. Elincia weilds the sword, Amiti, the treasure of the House of Crimea.

Elincia appears once again in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Three years have passed since the Mad King's war, and Daein has now become and independent nation once again thanks to the Dawn Brigade and it's new king, Pelleas. This results in a civil war in Crimea. The Crimean rebels believed that Elincia should cede the throne to Ludveck of Felirae because Crimea had not received anything after the Mad King's war. Elincia sends her most trusted friend, Lucia, to help discover Ludveck's plans. After Elincia defeats Ludveck and puts him in prison, he tries to force her to release him or else he will hang Lucia. Elincia denies Ludveck's freedom and Lucia is saved by the Greil Mercenaries.

When the Begnion Senate goes to war against the Laguz Alliance, the Begnion senator, Valtome, requests aid from Crimea. Elincia, however, declines in hopes to keep Crimea as a neutral country. Unfortunately, Valtome has soldiers steal from Crimean villages. Elincia tries to avoid blood being spilled in her land, and so when a battle is about to occur on Crimean land, Elincia places her sword on the ground, displaying incredible courage and honor in her words. This results in both General Zelgius' forces and the Laguz Alliance to pull back, but Valtome decides to launch an attack despite Zelgius' decision to retreat. Valtome's plan was to kill Elincia and company during a moment of weakness, but Ike and the Greil Mercenaries intervene and defeat Valtome's soldiers.

After the goddess, Ashera, passes her judgement, Elincia runs into Valtome and Izuka on her way to the Tower of Guidance. Bastian, one of her most trusted friends, finds her uncle Renning alive, but his mind is twisted from the drug that creates Feral Ones. The Heron Princes, Reyson, returns Renning's mind to normal, however rather than taking the throne of Crimea like he was originally supposed to, he decides to help her perform her duties. Her team defeats both Valtome and Izuka, and then arrives at the Tower of Guidance before Micaiah and Ike's teams.

Queen Elincia's sword, the Amiti, is a sacred relic of Crimea and functions as a Brave Sword. This means that for every one strike she normally takes, she will take two with this sword. If Elincia doubles, she will strike the enemy unit four times instead of two.
