Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, known as Fire Emblem: Seima no Kouseki in Japan, (ファイアーエムブレム 聖魔の光石, Faiā Emuburemu: Seima no Kōseki, lit "Fire Emblem: The Stones of Light and Darkness") is a tactical role playing game for the Game Boy Advance released in 2004 by Nintendo, and was developed by Intelligent Systems.
It is the eighth game in the Fire Emblem series to be released and the second to be released internationally. Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones is a standalone game which focuses on the continent of Magvel, where Princess Eirika and her brother, Prince Ephraim, who take up arms to reclaim their country after a longtime ally, the Grado empire wages war against them.

This game takes place on the fictional continent of Magvel, and follows the story of Princess Eirika and Prince Ephraim of Renais, on their quest through the land in an attempt to win the war against their previous ally, the Empire of Grado.
The year is 803, a full eight-hundred years after the Heroes of Magvel defeated the Demon King, Fomortiis. The emperor Vigarde has declared war on Renais and has lain waste to the Kingdom of Renais, and has killed it's king, Fado, the father of Ephraim and Eirika. Eirika and Seth, a general in in Renais's army, have fled for the boundaries of Frelia, an neighboring kingdom, in search for answers about her brother, and Ephraim has pushed deep into Grado territory.
