Knight of Altea

Frey is a character in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon (sometimes referred to as FEDS). He is one of the three cavaliers who the player recruits in the prologue. Frey is automatically recruited at the beginning of Prologue II. In the Fire Emblem canon, it is implied that he sacrifices himself as a decoy to allow Marth to escape the Sable Order (although in Normal Mode the player can change this). Frey did not appear in Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Ken, and as such he has a very limited role in the story of Shadow Dragon.

Strengths and Talents

Frey is usually seen as the best of the cavaliers in FEDS's Normal Mode, however, he does not appear in its hard modes. He is recruited with stats comparable to those of Cain and Abel, although his HP is slightly lower. Most players prefer to leave him as a paladin. A 20/20 Frey as a paladin can be expected to cap skill and speed and come close to capping HP, attack, and luck. Frey is one of the most useful units in the game, as his large movement and high growths make him extremely powerful as he reaches high levels.
