Ike is the main character of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and is a major character from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, where he leads the Greil Mercenaries. In Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, the Black Knight battled Ike's father, Greil and killed him. Ike then looked to avenge his father's death. In Radiant Dawn Ike starts off in the Class of Hero and once he recieves the powers of Yune becomes a Vanguard. He has his own sword-the blessed Ragnell given to him by Begnion Emperess Sanaki. However, his first sword that he starts off with in Radiant Dawn is the Ettard.

After much speculation of the return of Roy for Super Smash Bros Brawl, Ike was chosen instead.
