Merric, also known as Marich, had a crush on Marth’s sister Elice so he studied magic in order to protect his precious. The Altean noble joins Marth’s party in chapter 4.

Broken magic is broken. Merric is the best Sage you can get in this game since he can cap magic stat with the help of Spirit Dust. He joins Marth very early on in the game which contributes to his easy level ups. Since Merric can use Staves as a Sage, he outclasses your party’s healers and warpers. His growths are amazing for in game and online play.
