Skills

Skills are special abilities that units in the Fire Emblem series use to improve their performance. They were introduced in Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu, and was present in its midquel, Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. Following those two games, they were absent for the first two games on the Gameboy Advance, Fire Emblem: Fūin no Tsurugi and Fire Emblem. While they made a slight entrance in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, where they were attached to several classes, they made their return in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, and continued into Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Skills can usually be assigned to all units, with some prerequisites. From Path of Radiance onwards, skills takes up some of the unit's capacity. Capacity determines the amount of skills a unit can hold, and it changes by class. Some skills in Radiant Dawn took up no capacity at all, and are commonly referred to as "natural skills". In addition, Path of Radiance's skills could not be reassigned once removed. This changed in Radiant Dawn, where the player can add and remove skills as many times as necessary.
