Sothe becomes a stowaway on Ike's ship in hopes of getting to Daein, where he hopes to reunite with an old friend of his. The name of said person is not disclosed but is learned in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn to be Micaiah, his supposed sister. Micaiah fled her and Sothe's home to protect him from the danger of her being a Branded, and hoped to give him a new start. It is learned in Radiant Dawn that their bond started when Sothe was just a child, and their relationship blossomed like they were siblings.

Sothe is allowed to stay with Ike on his way to Daein as long as he helps out the army, and Sothe soon becomes a war veteran serving under his role-model-to-be, commander Ike.

Sothe is a member of the Dawn Brigade. He claims to be Micaiah's brother, but they share little resemblance. A skilled thief, he wields a razor sharp dagger. While he is devoted to the Dawn Brigade's cause, protecting Micaiah is always his first priority. Upon reuniting with her in Nevassa, Micaiah promises to never leave him again. After Sothe's years in the war, he often fantasizes over Ike, much to Micaiah's annoyance.

Sothe has grown up immensely three years after the Mad King's War and joins the Daein Liberation Army to help liberate the home him and Micaiah now belong to. Together, they also lead Daein into the war unwillingly assisted to Begnion against the Laguz Alliance and then march towards the Tower of Guidance as the Silver Army. Given that they both have an A-support with each other, Micaiah will be crowned queen of Daein and take Sothe as her husband.
