Zephiel, the King of Bern, is the main villain of Fire Emblem: Fūin no Tsurugi. Zephiel seeks to conquer the land of Elibe. He is the son of King Desmond, the previous ruler of Bern and Queen Hellene, an Etrurian noble.

After repeated assassination attempts by his jealous father, Zephiel came to the conclusion that humans were not equipped to hold power, for their emotions; fear, greed, jealousy, got in their way of making judgements. He hatched a plot to return Elibe to the control of Dragons, and awakened the Demon Dragon, Idoun to achieve this.
