Zihark is a swordsman that serves Crimea in FE9, and Daein in FE10. He has a bit of an obsession with Laguz. In Radiant Dawn, if you attack Lethe or Mordecai, there is a chance that Zihark will betray you and join the other side. If you kill any unit that has betrayed you, they're gone for good.
