The Thief is a character class present in nearly all instalments of the Fire Emblem series. Characteristically fast, thieves have a great movement range for a non-mounted unit. Their physical strength and defense are often lacking, which leaves many players to aim for their theives to avoid combat. However, they possess value in utility with the ability to steal from enemies, pick locks, and allow for a greater vision range during Fog of War.
Lock Picking - The thief is identified but it's exclusive item, the lock pick. The lock pick allows any thief to open a locked door or safe. However, it's uses are limited.
Steal - A thief may also steal from an enemy unit he is adjacent to. A list of possible items is displayed, and the selected item is placed in the thief's inventory.
